DIY Animal Card Templates Are Here

Hi fellow dog walkers,
Ahead of the fulfillment at the end of this year, we are sharing the DIY files for creating your own custom Bark Avenue cards! The below methods support both plain photos of your pets (with your own backgrounds on the cards), and if you're crafty, transparent background images of your pets on 9 provided unique backdrops.
In the slideshow, you'll see two examples, followed by the 9 DIY cards included in the box. The DIY cards each map to stats of real dog cards from Bark Avenue, and it's intended that you'll swap out the real dog for your custom DIY one. You can do this by sleeving the printed out art in front of that dog card, or by replacing the card altogether.
Photoshop File and Layer Images
For the craftier folks out there, we also made a Google Drive folder containing the layers shown in the presentation, along with a Photoshop .psd file that has the layers pre-loaded with the Name and Breed text fonts (Google Fonts - Boogaloo and Overpass). Check that out here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J8Kzq_ov9vJkVwdGhIXvXxwlyVAZqFz_?usp=sharing
If you're printing your cards professionally, they are on 63x88mm 300gsm bluecore cardstock with linen finish. Hopefully this helps you get as close to the original cards as possible!
Let us know if you have any questions as you dive in, and thanks again for supporting Bark Avenue! We hope you enjoy - and please share your creations with us by tagging us on Instagram @terredicegames!

BackerKit Survey Live, Lock Order Date, Sweetening the Upgrade Pack

– Fri, Aug 01, 2025 at 08:58:10 PM
Hey fellow dog walkers!
The BackerKit surveys have gone live, which means you should have gotten an email from BackerKit (or will be soon) with instructions on how to lock your address details, and payment information for shipping and VAT/taxes (if relevant). If you didn't get an email, you can also search here using your Kickstarter email address.
We'll be charging cards and locking order on August 15th. You'll have a couple weeks after then to make changes as necessary, just reach out if you need any help! We expect games to fulfill in December. If you expect to move before December, no problem! Just let us know and we'll find the best way to get the game to you.
Deluxe Upgrade Pack Just Got Better
We're also happy to share that we've added 6 Available Dog Tracker markers to the deluxe token upgrade pack. These optional tokens can be placed at each of the locations where dogs are available to pick up to help visualize where dogs in the market live. When you pick up a dog, just move that token to the location of the new dog that gets refilled in its place!
We sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support for Bark Avenue. Those of you who have told us you're excited about Bark Avenue are fulfilling our dream of spreading fun and getting the game to more tables around the world!
As always, reach out if you have any questions and we'll do our best to help!
All the best,
Mackenzie and Jonathan
Fulfillment on Track, Pledge Manager/Pre-Orders, Limited Edition Box Art Reveal, and more

Hey fellow dog walkers, it’s time for a BIG update! As the first order of business, happy to report that we’re on track for fulfillment before the end of the year. We’ve been in close coordination with all our partners (manufacturer, co-publisher, fulfillment, artists/graphic designers) to ensure all the moving pieces are ready for the print run and fulfillment to follow. In order to accommodate print volumes, there’ve been some adjustments to our product offerings. Lots of stuff to talk about - so let’s jump in!
Kings and Queens and Concrete Jungle as One Product
The Borough Board and Item Cards
Concrete Jungle and Kings and Queens have been combined into one product. As many of you know, we’ve been fortunate enough to partner with Good Games Publishing for the release of Bark Avenue, and they have returned to support Kings and Queens. This means that Good Games has given us precious development hours, graphic design support, and access to their network to have a broader retail print-run of our game - so that not only our backers get to play it, but also many more shoppers at local game stores and retail locations across dozens of countries.
Walking a parrot (Jungle Card) and two dogs (Double Dog Card)
We’re also fortunate enough that even amidst tariff uncertainty, they have decided to print Kings and Queens for retail release. The $22 price point we offered during the campaign, however, is difficult to achieve given the multiples that go into retail sales for publishers of our size. In brainstorming ways to increase the retail price point to something more like $35, we determined that the best path forward was to include the additional module and 27 Concrete Jungle cards in the box with Kings and Queens. This makes the expansion feel significantly meatier, with double the number of cards and a whole lot of new ways to play the game.
Components for Kings and Queens (with Concrete Jungle) (not pictured: ten $10 tip tokens, 1 d6 die (solo mode), and 9 DIY cards) - excuse the at-home photography!
Out of the 1,000 or so copies of Kings and Queens we sold during the Kickstarter campaign, only 180 backers did not add on Concrete Jungle on Kickstarter. In order to reduce our manufacturing cost, fulfillment cost, and therefore increase the margin on Kings and Queens (and thus account for tariffs without passing the cost on to you), we have made the decision to include Concrete Jungle in Kings and Queens, and increase the cost for new purchases to $32 in the pre-order store.
As a thank you to those 800+ of you who added on Concrete Jungle, we’re replacing that item in your pledge with the wooden upgrade pack for Kings and Queens, giving you ten $10 wooden tip tokens and a large exclusive wooden first player marker to remind you when to move the sun down. If you would prefer to not have the wooden upgrade pack and exclusive first player marker, we can give you a $10 credit toward your shipping - just send us a message and we’ll get you covered. We had originally intended to include the $10 tip tokens as wooden in the expansion box, but are no longer able to do so given the minimum order quantities we need to hit for this and the retail edition (vs. printing cardboard for the two combined), and in order to reduce the impact from tariffs. If you are among the few backers who did not add Concrete Jungle, expected wooden tip tokens, and do not have the means to add on this add-on pack, please contact us and we can make it right.
We thank each and every one of you for understanding; after consulting with many seasoned Kickstarter backers, we believe this was the best path forward, given individual backers still get what they pledged for, and more.
Bark Avenue: Limited Edition Gets a New Look
When we set out to design Bark Avenue, a talented concept artist named Chris helped us bring the game to life with the original box and board art he did for Bark Avenue. However, when it came time to publish Bark Avenue, another artist named April did the vast majority of the assets. She is a spectacular artist with the incredible capability of bringing real animals and places to life. That’s why we commissioned April to recreate the box art for Bark Avenue, celebrating the incredible work that she’s done capturing the heart of this game.
The new box art features nods to several elements of Bark Avenue; there are now pigeons and squirrels, more dog walkers, and the taxi cab has an advertisement on its roof for Animal Lighthouse Rescue, one of the foster centers that we partnered with to bring awareness to the center in Bark Avenue. Additionally, April did a stunning job capturing the Upper West Side (72nd Street, where we lived when we lived in New York), and putting our dog Emma front and center alongside two classic New York breeds. We also used April’s art to create new side panels that bring Bark Avenue to life, including a side dedicated to Smidgen the pigeon (with a dog about to interrupt his day)!
Bark Avenue: Limited Edition is the complete version of that dream we had when we set out to make the game. It comes with a plastic insert, dual layered boards, squishy poops, all wooden screen-printed tokens, a linen finish box and rulebook, and new art (alongside 2 rulebook corrections).
So why “Limited Edition”? This is possibly the last print run of a deluxe version of Bark Avenue. In a moment of transparency, we’re going to need to print a lot more copies of this deluxe Bark Avenue than we need to hit a reasonable minimum order quantity. We hope that if you already own Bark Avenue but want the new box art and deluxe components, you’ll consider ordering a copy of the Limited Edition and giving away the copy you own to a friend, family member, or your local library. Every copy sold both helps us cut away at the manufacturing costs and the tariffs we’ll face upon importing to the US.
DIY Cards
Those following the updates are patiently waiting for the link to the DIY card illustrator/layer files so they can make their own, we'll get that out in the update coming later this week with the pledge manager!
Pledge Manager and Pre-Order Store are Opening This Week
So with all that said, we’re buttoning up the last of the pledge manager configurations now to account for the above, and the pledge manager is opening this week! Backers should be getting an email with an invitation to complete their pledge in the pledge manager. At this time, backers who didn’t add on Concrete Jungle can add on the wooden tip tokens and exclusive first player marker for $10. They can also get a copy of Bark Avenue: Limited Edition for $60.
New backers can also place orders via the pre-order store when that goes live (we’ll post another update this week about that). These will be fulfilled at the same time as the backers during fulfillment.
We can’t wait to show you all that’s been done for the expansion, we hope you’ll love it! In next month’s update, we’ll share a playthrough with all the fun new expansion bits.
Until then, thanks again for all of your support on this journey in creating Bark Avenue!

Art’s Done! Concrete Jungle, Pledge Manager, and Timeline Update
9 months ago
– Wed, Jun 18, 2025 at 08:15:07 PM
Hey fellow dog walkers!
We have good news on all fronts that we’re excited to share with you today. Let’s jump right in!
Art’s Done!
In between moving from New York to Austin, settling in and setting up our game room (see my current view below), and getting back on a regular filming schedule, the team has been hard at work - the art is done!
Working from our new Game Room/Film Studio
April was hard at work finishing 30 dogs and 27 unique animals for the Kings and Queens and Concrete Jungle expansion decks. We finished creating and balancing all the stats for the Concrete Jungle cards, and are wrapping up layouts now. All the rest of the art was already complete, so we’re nearly there on assets for getting print files prepped.
Kings and Queens Dogs (Sample)
Concrete Jungle Animals (Sample)
The next steps are finishing the back of the Kings and Queens box, the back of the Concrete Jungle pack, and the rulebook (and rule card) for both. We’ll be hard at work on these so we can submit print files by the end of July.
Concrete Jungle Update
We’re happy to announce that we’ve completed all of the card stats, graphic design, and art for Concrete Jungle. For those who weren’t up to speed on this expansion before, it’s not one you’ll want to miss. These cards add a fun new element to the game, where they get their favorite activity by visiting treat shops or coffee shops with you. This gives you extra incentive to try all Upper Manhattan has to offer.
Concrete Jungle Card
Pledge Manager Update
By the time we release our July update, a few things will have happened. We’ll have submitted print files to our manufacturer, finalized manufacturing costs, confirmed the delivery estimates, and opened the pledge manager. As with last time, we’ll be using BackerKit for the pledge manager. A couple things to expect:
You’ll be able to add on extra copies of Bark Avenue: Deluxe Edition, Kings and Queens, and Concrete Jungle
You’ll provide your address and be charged shipping and VAT/import tax where applicable
US and Canadian backers (fulfilled from the US) will not be required to cover any applicable tariffs. However, we will give an optional tip jar with guidance on covering the tariff cost of importing your game if you feel inclined to support us further.
Timeline Update
We’re happy to confirm that we are still on schedule for delivery in December. We can’t wait for you all to get your hands on Bark Avenue!
As always, let us know if you have any questions and we’re happy to get back to you!
Art Backers
Anyone who backed Bark Avenue to get their dog or animal in Kings and Queens or Concrete Jungle will receive an email by this Friday with their completed art. We can't wait to see what you think!
Thank you, Mackenzie and Jonathan
Progress Update: Art, Timeline, and Tariffs
11 months ago
– Mon, Apr 21, 2025 at 07:46:54 PM
Hey fellow dog walkers!
For those of you who don't know, we've been in the middle of a cross country move with our two little girls and dog in tow from our 8 years in Manhattan down to Austin, Texas! In short, the move has gone really well. We're about halfway moved in and also Jonathan and his brothers drove an old family car cross-country to Austin with our valuables in tow (including board games like Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit)!
Anyway, the move has kept us pre-occupied and away from writing this update - which we've finally set up enough of an office to write now!
Art Update
First, the really good news. The project is so far completely on track and running along as scheduled. April Borchelt is hard at work completing the art for Bark Avenue: Concrete Jungle, and has also started on Bark Avenue: Kings and Queens additions since the campaign. Here's a little sneak peek of some Concrete Jungle animals... :)
Timeline
As of now, our goal is to have a limited quantity of Bark Avenue: Concrete Jungle card packs airshipped in to Gen Con, followed shortly by fulfillment of Bark Avenue: Kings and Queens and Concrete Jungle. We hope that the preview at Gen Con of Kings and Queens and sale of Concrete Jungle helps drive up sales for us to make a bigger dent in the minimum order quantity we'll have to print to get Bark Avenue printed. While we're planning on printing everything as is, we're going to have a lot of unsold units when we initially ship. Every convention helps us reduce the inventory we sell from a warehouse.
Bark Avenue: Deluxe Edition reprint is likely going to be on the same boat, but more details on that below.
Tariffs
You've probably heard a lot about the 145% and climbing Chinese import tariffs - so we'll keep this section short and to the facts:
Since we don't plan to ship until roughly October, we have no idea what tariffs will look like 6 months from now. We can't accurately tell you exactly how we'll handle them then. However, if tariffs remain within the same escalated level as they currently are, we will still be able to fulfill in the US as planned.
Backers outside the US and Canada will be fulfilled from other regions anyway - and we do not expect them to be affected.
Fortunately, Bark Avenue: Kings and Queens and Concrete Jungle are fairly cheap to produce - the one factor that goes into tariffs. While art was the most expensive component and there are other factors such as shipping and graphic design, the game only clocks in at around $3.50 to manufacture. However, since we're manufacturing more than we're selling initially, that means we're paying roughly $8.50 per copy we ship to the US to manufacture and import Kings and Queens (not even counting international shipping). If tariffs stay in place when we are ready to ship the game, we will provide an optional add-on for backers who feel inclined to cover the cost of the import tariff to the US (for example, $5 at the current import rate). This will be optional and you do not need to cover the import cost to receive your game. That said, we of course appreciate your support of small businesses like ours, as we will be losing money on our initial investment in Kings and Queens as of this moment.
We have considered options such as manufacturing outside of China. Given the complexities of Bark Avenue: Deluxe Edition and our desire to make Kings and Queens match with your existing copies of Bark Avenue as closely as possible, we will not be able to manufacture in other countries such as Vietnam. We will consider other manufacturing options for future projects.
Bark Avenue: Deluxe Edition base game may become too expensive for us to import under the existing tariffs without delay or additional support. We'll address this as we get closer to the delivery. The reason for this is that we are far below the minimum order quantity and planned to import a lot of excess copies to the US. We'll now need to strategize on what we want to do here. If this becomes the case, we'll reach out to all base game backers with an updated plan. As of now, we have no plans to pull any triggers on base game delays.
Again, we're so grateful for every backer who has supported this project and thank you for your understanding as we and other businesses work through these challenges. We'll keep you updated if anything materially changes from the above!
